I just wanted to thank you for your CD series. My husband is in the Air Force and deployed for a year. Both of my children (9 and 7) were experiencing anxiety and fear. We’ve been using the CDs for a couple of months with excellent results. They now have the tools to deal with and understand some of the “out of control” emotions they are experiencing due to this tremendous change in our lives. It has even helped me too.
I think it would be a great tool for all of the military base family readiness centers (they have different names in the various branches) to have one or more copies of your series to loan to other families struggling with the same issues. Please let me know if I can do anything to increase the exposure of your product in support of the military family. Thanks so much for making this product! Mary K
I bought turnaround primarily for my son who was experiencing intense anxiety after I was sick for a long period of time in 2009. His anxiety started presenting as OCD and we realized he needed help. He was seeing a play therapist, which was working very well, and I read about Turnaround and thought this might help as well.
We listened to it as a family in the car on journeys and he did the workbook. We all gained from the experience. My two daughters have found it easier to resolve conflicts and are very good at telling me when they are overwhelmed and need some down time. My son is a different child. All the OCD is gone. He talks about saying no to Krank on a regular basis and a lot of the characters have become reference points for us as a family.
We were in a bad place when I ordered Turnaround and we were pretty desperate. Turnaround helped us heal together and put my illness well and truly behind us. The program is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone dealing with an anxious child. We all have learned tools that will help us for the future.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My son says it was cool listening to all the characters that are in his head and thanks for helping him beat bonehead – the name he gave his OCD symptoms. It’s fantastic. Thank you. Tara
I see this as a tool that will be reviewed multiple times over the next several years for my daughter. As a parent I like that she now can tell me how she feels when she is having anxiety. I helps me to know that her heart is pumping so fast she “can’t hear herself think.” Then we can work on breathing slowly and getting to a place where she feels okay physically again. I love that the workbook is visual. Some of the activities are a little too abstract for her right now, but I hope when we go through the program again she will be able to write about some of the ideas.
I work in public schools in Michigan and I have been recommending this program to school social workers, teacher consultants and others who work with children with negative behavior due to anxiety. I am thankful that I found this program. It was by complete accident that I stumbled upon your website during a Google search for anxious children. My daughter was seeing a therapist who told me that she was done as she had nothing else to talk to him about. Yet her teacher was saying that everyday she complained she felt sick after lunch. Since we started this program I haven’t heard anything else about her being sick. I have even sent the program to therapy with her so he could help facilitate the completion of the workbook pages. Your program has made a positive impact in our life as a family. Thank you for developing it. Tammy Z
